We preserve, promote, and celebrate Bengali Culture
Since its inception, VBCS has grown into a vital hub for Bengalis in Victoria, BC and the surrounding areas, offering a platform for individuals of all ages to connect with their roots, pass on traditions to future generations, and engage in meaningful community activities. As a young and dynamic organization, we are constantly expanding our initiatives to support cultural education and provide a space where our members can thrive both culturally and socially.
Pohela Boishakh & Tagore-Nazrul Jayanti
"Are you not my very own poet?" — When Tagore met Nazrul in spirit
Pohela Boishakh marks the call of the new. And in this celebration of new beginnings, we return to our roots — to two eternal beacons of Bengali literature: Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Two individuals from different walks of life — yet the bond of their hearts transcends time and society. One, a seeker of peace; the other, a fiery rebel. Their meeting is a timeless treasure of Bengali culture.
This Bengali New Year, we celebrate their creations, their connection, and our eternal heritage.
